Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and UCPN (Maoist) Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' are holding talks. A security source has confirmed that the meeting between them has been going on at Deuba's residence Budhanilkantha since 12 noon.

Discussions are said to have focused on the majority needed to form a new government. President Vidyadevi Bhandari has called for the formation of a government of two or more parties as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution by Thursday. She has called for the formation of a majority government by giving time till April 12. Top leaders of the Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Center, who are in the process of forming a new government, are engaged in discussions. Though it is said that the Congress, the Maoists and the JSP have taken the initiative to form a government together, internal differences within the JSP are seen to be a problem for the alliance.
