 कोविड 19 के प्रकोप के बाद रोके गए मिड-हिल हाईवे के पर्वतीय खंड को तार-तार करने का काम शुरू हो गया है।

 हाईवे के पर्वतीय हिस्से में सड़क को अपग्रेड करने के क्रम में, मोदीखेत क्षेत्र में ब्लैक शीटिंग शुरू की गई है।

 कोरोना के कारण चैत्र के दूसरे सप्ताह से रुका हुआ निर्माण कार्य सितंबर के दूसरे सप्ताह से शुरू हुआ।  लामा कंस्ट्रक्शन कंपनी ने सूचित किया है कि उसने पहाड़ के उस हिस्से के निर्माण का जिम्मा लिया है, जिसे अपग्रेड करने के काम में तेजी लाकर मोदीखेत से काली पत्ती को फैलाने का काम शुरू किया गया है।  कंपनी के एक प्रतिनिधि राजाराम आचार्य के अनुसार, सर्दियों के आने तक कम से कम 5 किलोमीटर में काले पत्तों को फैलाने का काम पूरा हो जाएगा।  आचार्य ने कहा कि कास्की और परबत की सीमा तक काले पत्ते फैलाने का काम तब तक जारी रहेगा जब तक यह अनुकूल नहीं है।  उन्होंने कहा, "जब तक तापमान बढ़ेगा और बारिश रुकेगी, तब तक काम जारी रहेगा। बाकी सड़कों पर काम जारी रहेगा।"

 कंस्ट्रक्शन कंपनी के अनुसार, कंपनी ने पर्वत प्रवेश से लेकर मालढुंगा तक 23.769 किलोमीटर के उन्नयन के लिए 839.8 मिलियन का अनुबंध जीता है।  पर्वत खंड के 23 किलोमीटर में से, संरचना का 98 प्रतिशत काम पूरा हो चुका है।  माल्ढुंगा से नयापुल तक के बागलुंग की सीमा को लगभग 5 किलोमीटर तक काला कर दिया गया है।  बाढ़ और भूस्खलन के कारण खंड के कुछ हिस्सों में सड़कें क्षतिग्रस्त हो गई हैं और उन्हें फिर से काला करने की आवश्यकता है।  प्रोजेक्ट मैनेजर भूसल ने कहा, "बाकी काम इस वित्तीय वर्ष में पूरे हो जाएंगे। पहले की तरह काम में कोई रुकावट नहीं होगी।"
