इस दिन, सुबह के समय में आत्म शुद्धि के बाद, नदी, धारा, या अन्य स्थान पर जाएं जहां आप साफ रेत या पंचामृत प्राप्त कर सकते हैं, इसे दस घरों या पूजा स्थलों में रख सकते हैं, और उस स्थान पर जौ बो सकते हैं। वैदिक बलिदानों के लिए जौ को एक आवश्यक वस्तु माना जाता है।

  

चूंकि जामरा माँ भगवती के पसंदीदा पौधों में से एक है, इसलिए जामवारा को भगवती को प्रसन्न करने के लिए उगाया जाता है। गाय के गोबर का उपयोग उसी स्थान के पास मिट्टी के शुद्ध मिट्टी के जग (कलश) के चारों ओर नौ देवियों की एक वेदी बनाने के लिए किया जाता है और जौ को भी गमले के चारों ओर दफनाया जाता है।

  

फिर महाकाली (सर्वनाश), महालक्ष्मी (संरक्षण) और महासरस्वती (सृष्टि) को पंचपल्लव के रूप में पंचपल्लव के पत्तों पर जल से भरे कलश में चढ़ाकर उनकी पूजा की जाती है। शनिवार, 20 नवंबर को सुबह 11:46 बजे घाटस्थाना का मुहूर्त शुभ है।
