Payal Ghosh visits Versova Police Station for interrogation

Actress Payal Ghosh, who has levelled allegations of sexual misconduct against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, visited the Versova Police Station earlier this evening. She was summoned for interrogation. On September 21, Payal and her lawyer, Nitin Satpute, lodged a complaint against Anurag under sections 376, 354, 341, 342 of the Indian Penal Code. Her statement was also recorded that day. Anurag, through social media and through his legal counsel, had denied all the allegations of sexual misconduct. While speaking to Bombay Times, advocate Nitin Satpute said, “Yes, Payal Ghosh went to the Versova Police Station today. She was called for further investigation into the matter. She was also expected to go and give them the evidence that she has against the accused (Anurag Kashyap). She has shared the necessary details that were essential for the police to take their investigation further. At this point, I cannot reveal what she has handed over to the police and what she has shared with them as the investigation is on.”

Payal Ghosh raised an alarm about the alleged misconduct on the part of the filmmaker last weekend. She had previously been to Oshiwara Police Station to lodge the complaint. However, she eventually filed the complaint at the Versova Police Station which is now looking into the matter
