Various places in Rupandehi have been inundated due to incessant rains. More than 50 houses have been inundated and severely damaged in Rohini, Tinau and Danav river settlements.


In the end, clothes and livestock have flown away. Houses along the river have been washed away and houses that were submerged in other places have also collapsed. Some locals have been injured due to the drowning.


Eighteen houses in Rohini Gaonpalika-5 and Piparhawa have been inundated after the Rohini River entered the squatter settlement. According to the locals, the cowsheds have collapsed and food, clothes and some livestock have also been washed away. Similarly, the rice crop during ripening has also been severely damaged.


Rohini Village Chairman Hira Kewat informed that there was no loss of life as Nepal Police and Armed Police Force rescued the locals and kept them in a safe place. Dhan Bahadur Ale, a local, said that the settlement was flooded at 3 pm last night due to the high flow of the river. In Piparhiya, 8 houses were flooded in 2066 BS and 14 houses in 2073 BS.
