Minister Vikas reached Parbat Huwas after visiting three districts, made a sensational revelation and shocked the locals
A mourning meeting has been held today on the twelfth death anniversary of Ram Bahadur Thapa, a former people's representative of the southern region of the Parbat and leader of Bhupu Sainik. Gandaki Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Vikas Lamsal arrived at Thapa's residence today to pay tribute to the late leader and offer condolences to the bereaved family.
Addressing a tribute meeting held at the residence of the late leader Thapa, Minister Lamsal said, “The late leader Ram Bahadur Thapa was not only a good, honest and loyal representative of the people of the southern part of the mountain but also an exemplary character for the people. His demise has caused irreparable damage to the party ranks in the region. ” Stating that he had not only political but also emotional connection with the late leader Thapa, Minister Lamsal said, "He was constantly pushing me for the development of the region including Bataghata, bridges and police stations."
CPN (Maoist) leader Mitra Lal Basyal, District Coordinating Committee Deputy Chief Yam Kumari Rana, Village Chairman Khagendra Prasad Tiwari, District Committee Member Reshmalal Nyapane, Ward Chairman Mahendra Shrestha, Ward Chairman Umakanta Bhurtel and Saila Chhaera Man Bahadur of the deceased Thapa were present at the tribute meeting. Thapa Magar Lagaet paid homage to the deceased Thapa.
Minister Lamsal, who reached Huwas in the southern part of the mountain to mourn his classmates, also interacted and interviewed the citizens of Panyu Municipality. He also expressed his commitment to portray the region as a mine of immense potential in terms of distance from the district headquarters and infrastructure development in the unitary state system.
Stating that his blood and sweat were mixed in the rivers and streams flowing in the area, Minister Lamsal said that he was trying to remove this geography from the tag of "Kalapani" as he had helped me to become a minister.
Minister Lamsal said that if there was no epidemic of corona virus from Chisapani Huwas to Wahaki Bhanjyangs, a constituency selected under one road in the first year budget of the state government after he became the minister would be blacktoped by connecting it directly to the state capital and district headquarters. He also expressed his commitment to make it. A concrete motorable bridge is being constructed at Andheri Khola and Dundkhola in this road section.
In addition, work has been going on since last year for blacktop of roads from Kushma to the rest of Phalewas section, Lamaykhola to Lunkhu and Lunkhu to Huwas. Concrete motorable bridges on Gedi Khola and Seti Khola in this road section are being constructed this year.
Similarly, under Kaligandaki Corridor, 7 km from Setiveni of Armadi road section to Kumalgaon of Ranipani. The road is being tarred. Efforts are also being made to blacktop the road section from Ranipani to Modiveni. DPR is being prepared to pave the road from Setikhola Bridge to Taklak.
We have allocated budget for upgrading Huwas road through Kahu, Sirwane, Walakot and Thuli Bhanjyang-Choupari-Bhorle. Not only that, dozens of suspension bridges are being built across the river. Minister Lamsal had said that no one could call the southern part of the mountain as Kalapani after the completion of all these infrastructures.
Stating that they are trying to develop Panyukot on the model of Maulakalika of Nawalpur, Minister Lamsal said that Rs 4 million has been allocated for the development of Payyunkot this year and the budget will not allow any shortage to work as per DPR. Similarly, Minister Lamsal had said that he was working for paragliding in Sirsikot, Lungringkot, Chhatera Jharna of Bhurtelthok and Nepaldanda.
